The Setting

Little Harriers was opened in 2004 by Husband and Wife team Mike and Lucy Verbrugge.  Lucy holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, is a fully qualified Montessori Directress and has over 17years experience in Early Years.  More recently, Lucy has topped up her Degree to qualify as an Early Years Teacher.

Mike is also a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner, and has since qualified as an Archery Instructor and Forest School Leader.  Mike is also a First Aid Instructor and ensures all staff hold their Paediatric First Responder qualification.

Mike and Lucy have 3 daughters – Eve has grown up through all the Little Harriers age groupings and now attends Hawks After School Care.  Their younger two, Suzie and Maisie are both at Little Harriers.

The family attend Cranleigh Baptist Church.

Here at Little Harriers we encourage the children to develop their independence wherever possible. The children are allowed the freedom to discover and learn about the world around them through first-hand experiences and concrete activities.

Lunsfold Park offers the perfect setting for a nursery, with wide open spaces and 24hr security surrounding the site.

Little Harriers also has an electronic door system which allows parents to enter the nursery using a personalised key fob. These key fobs are only issued to parents of the nursery and are a far more convenient way of entering the building to drop off and collect the children.

We also invite you to look at our 'WEB CAM'.  Only parents are given the username and password and are free to look at it any time during nursery hours.

Meal Times

Dhe food at Little Harriers is of an exceptionally high standard, with all meals made freshly on-site everyday.  Our head chef, Gerry, has been feeding the Little Harriers children for over 12years. The children are all very fond of Gerry and regularly put in requests for their favourite meals.

During the warmer months, the Pre-school grow and harvest vegetables and herbs from their garden and bring items in for Gerry to use that day. The children also benefit this time of year from outdoor picnics, which are enjoyed by all!

We can discuss any special dietary requirements that you have – Gerry is very accommodating and creative with her cooking.
